 Parajanov Museum

Parajonov’s Museum was opened in 1991 and is located on the verge of Hrazdan gorge, next to St. Sargis Church and has large balcony with a beautiful view on the Hrazdan Gorge. Yerevan Brandy Factory, the Hrazdan Canyon, the St. Sargis Church and Yerevan Wine Factory guard the peace for Parajanov Museum. This is the peace that Sergey Parajanov, the world acclaimed cinematographer was deprived of, this is the peace that Soviet intolerance of alternative mentality took from him through appalling treatment and even arrest…
His restless life had its influence on his art which is presented in this museum through about 250 works. Sergey Parajanov’s life story (1994-1990), Parajanov’s collages, his handmade dolls and paintings, his movies serve as a new window that looks directly to essential ends in life…
